Hey Quaranturnt Crew,
Thanks so much to everyone here for reaching out to me after my email on Friday! I appreciate the support. And more importantly, it stands to show how valuable it can be to show vulnerability. I can’t tell you how many times it has been helpful to myself, and to many others, that I am so open in expressing any challenges like depression. If you’re ever struggling with something like that, reach out. Many of those emotions only exist in the darkness, so shine a light on it and we can extinguish it together. Today I wanted to touch on what to do if you miss a workout. The short answer: NOTHING. Just keep going on with your life and jump back on it the next day. I’m writing all this expecting that none of you are doing it every day. If you do 5 days a week, you are killing it. Don’t worry about doubling up on workouts. Don’t feel like you’ve failed me or yourself. This isn’t a book, you can skip a couple pages here and there. Workout several days a week, eat real food, #TrustTheProcess. In general, what about if you miss a workout or eat like shit for a meal? Again, don’t worry about it. You don’t have to do everything 100% or 0%, if you hit 80% you are getting an A+. Set this in your mind right now: You’re not committed to working out 7 days a week and eating nothing but kale and white meat chicken, you are committed to working out several times a week and generally eating real food at normal amounts. So chill for a day, eat a cookie. Just relax. Now if that “chill for a day” turns into a month, or if the “cookie” turns into an entire cake, then we are having a different discussion… So please don’t do the whole “I’m already off course on my diet so might as well crash land this health plane”. Be generally healthy with consistency, and you’re probably ahead of 99% of the population. Here is the IG post! Enjoy the topical cartoon.
