Hey Hi Q Crew, We talked about why you want to rev the engine first in fat loss - increased metabolic needs will make it easier to burn through energy stores (aka fat) when you do decide to cut your food intake. Then we talked about how to rev the engine - you increase your NEAT by walking more (hence the whole fitbit step challenges), ditching the sweater, and building muscle. Now the last thing I will leave you in this mini-saga is dealing with many people’s objections to my muscle-building suggestion. Some of you are scared of turning into this: Or this: And, excluding a long conversation we should have about body shaming and how women don’t have to blow away in a light wind to be attractive, I have one very simple thing to say. Let’s worry about that when you show a hint of getting there.
It takes years and years of dedicated work to grow any sort of impressive or intimidating muscle. These two unreal humans above didn’t start working out and wake up 3 months later like “oh shit I gained 30lbs of muscle!” Especially girls who have less than 10% the testosterone that guys have, I freaking dare you to gain “too much muscle”. Finally, if you do get to a muscular point that’s too far for your ideal, then rest assured no one has struggled to lose muscle. Here is the IG post for today.
